I started reading professionally back in 2019 when I launched my online crystal and Tarot card shop. I wanted to build my confidence reading for others, so I would charge people around £5 for a seven card reading.

I won’t lie, they weren’t the best readings I’ve ever done, but they helped me get to where I am today so I can’t be too hard on them.

I’d also like to say - before I talk about my experiences with reading for the public - that although I can be charismatic, I find talking to people difficult. I’m not a natural conversationalist, I have to continuously work on it. As you can imagine, this added an extra challenge to reading for strangers.

I read for the public for about 2 years before packing it in. Not a long time granted, but it was enough to help me realise that selling Tarot Readings wasn’t something that really called to me. I only rarely felt like I had helped someone in the way they needed. Often I found I would avoid saying things that needed to be said, just so I could tell the person what I knew they wanted to hear.

Something every Tarot reader will know, is not the way the Tarot works. It doesn’t care what you desire most, it cares about what is.
